Originally this master suite had a huge under-used bedroom. The homeowners wanted a new one large enough for a king-sized bed, sitting area, and furniture while keeping an open feel. The result is a light-filled and inviting space, with classic elements.
The clients hoped to continue the light and open feeling from their recently remodeled kitchen, along with its accents of blue and green, into the porch which sits just outside both the kitchen and the dining room.
This eclectic room, inspired by the rich cultural traditions found throughout the countries of Asia and the Indian subcontinent, is an inviting place to spend an afternoon.
The client is a passionate, prolific artist, adept at creating in many forms of media. She knew from the start that she needed a space that would allow her to store art supplies and provide room for her and a friend to create their beautiful works of art.
This artist’s retreat beautifully combines mid-century and eclectic styling. Deep jewel-toned colors combine with a home-made quilt and a bright teal rug to contrast nicely with the cherry mid-century style furnishings.
